What is happening at the Rozalin school?

Our activities are developing week by week. We are expanding our offer with new projects, services, and innovative ideas. We want our work to bring the best possible results and stand out in the local market.

In this issue we present the most important topics for the coming week. We are launching an internship programme and a free cycle of computer classes for seniors. We also share progress on the opening of the Museum of Stories, where a mobile exhibition is being prepared, and we present the details of our comic workshop offer.

To better understand what we do, it is worth asking a few questions. What is the social economy and who is it for? How can people use the opportunities this model creates?

Fundacja Q’s Social Economy Enterprise

Socially responsible business for us means people constantly taking on new challenges. We are creating a local office for civic initiatives, supporting and implementing community activity. We know that development means something different for everyone, which is why we offer a wide range of projects, training courses, workshops, and unconventional spontaneous actions.

You can learn more about this during the Social Economy Fair, which will take place on 10 April 2019, a Wednesday, at the Municipal Public Library in Stalowa Wola. The fair is a unique opportunity to present our work and get to know many interesting initiatives, including social enterprises, social cooperatives, associations, and foundations that combine business and social activity in our region.

We warmly invite everyone interested to take part in the fair. We will be happy to present our projects in person.

Rekrutujemy and the path to employment

As part of our work for regional support and development, we are launching two projects this week. We already announced them in previous issues of Warkot and on our Facebook profiles.

Our enterprise is implementing the Rekrutujemy project. We are looking for people both for our own activities and for external companies.

This time we are recruiting for the Path to Employment programme, which aims to activate people who are outside the labour market. It is a comprehensive development path that supports and motivates participants while building concrete competences and skills.

We can offer several career tracks, including:

• advertising agency work such as social media and event promotion,
• hairdresser and stylist,
• craft brewing,
• bartending.

We work with outstanding businesses where the best participants will be able to complete paid internships, including Browar Rzemieslniczy Lasowiak, Pijalnia Piw Niebanalnych KADZ, Atelier & Academy Katarzyna Zlamaniec, and others.

Digital Academy for Seniors

Responding to seniors’ needs, we created a programme focused on digital education and support in using new devices.

The Digital Academy for Seniors training sessions are part of the New Technologies Lab project. We invite participants to the first class already on Thursday, 11 April.

The training is completely free and includes a cycle of six meetings held once a month. Classes are divided into thematic blocks. We explain, for example, what online banking is and how to use it. We also show how to create an email account, shop online, and search for the information you need.

Small Academy of Comics

Another initiative we want to offer is a workshop that will be a real treat both for children who want to unleash their imagination and develop creativity, and for adult lovers of visual storytelling.

Small Academy of Comics opens the world of comic art through theoretical and practical sessions. Participants will learn basic concepts from culture and art and explore the history of comics. In the practical part they will discover how comics are made and how stories and emotions can be told through drawing.

Workshop offer

The offer is aimed at children aged 10+, school youth, and adults interested in comics. Classes are conducted for groups of no more than 15 people. Larger groups are divided into two parts. The price includes the instructor and art materials.

Available options:

• A Day at the Museum for organised groups of more than 10 people: guided tour of the exhibition plus the Small Academy of Comics workshop, about 2.5 hours, 25 PLN per person.
• Small Academy of Comics for organised groups without the exhibition tour: about 2 hours, 18 PLN per person.
• Small Academy of Comics for individual participants, minimum 5 people: about 2 hours, 30 PLN per person.
• It is also possible to adapt the offer to individual client needs.

Works created during the workshops will be printed as an A4 poster free of charge. Larger formats are available for an additional fee.

We run workshops from Monday to Friday:

• off-site from 08:00 to 12:00,
• on-site from 12:00 to 14:00 at the Social Economy Enterprise headquarters in Rozalin.

Museum of Stories

Work on opening the Museum of Stories is still in progress. The next stage is a mobile exhibition featuring iconic equipment from the communist era, including well-known irons and internal combustion engines used in mopeds and boats.

The design of such equipment was extremely simple, even rough, and far from today’s idea of beauty, yet today it is treated as iconic. Most devices had simple mechanisms designed to perform a single role, which is why buying one often meant owning it for many years. Many of us probably still have equipment from that period that works perfectly well.

The mobile exhibition will be presented for the first time at the Social Economy Fair in Stalowa Wola and will later become part of the Museum of Stories exhibition planned for 18 May during the Night of Museums.
