What is happening at the Rozalin school?

A new month means new events. What can you look forward to in the coming weeks? Read on.

On 13 November we invite you to the free Damy Rade workshop, designed mainly for informal caregivers looking after ill relatives at home. The workshop is also useful for community carers, older people, and anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge.

These free workshops are held across Poland and are led by professionals who work daily with chronically ill and bedridden people. During the sessions, participants learn proper care and hygiene, how to choose absorbent products, and methods for preventing pressure sores. The workshop also gives space for individual consultation with a specialist about a concrete problem.

If you care for a dependent person and feel lost or do not know where to look for information, the Damy Rade project was created to help. Its goal is simple: to make the question “How do I care for a chronically ill person at home?” much less overwhelming.

To make support accessible, Damy Rade works in several areas and offers an online learning platform, films, guides, and workshops for caregivers.

Concerts this month

We have prepared two concerts for you this month.

On 19 November, Samoaja will perform for us at 19:00. We still have a few places left. Samoaja is an alternative folk band from Kokkola, Finland, founded in 2015. Their music combines Scandinavian landscapes with contemporary songwriter folk and creates a beautiful, hypnotic sound.

On 29 November, teepee will play for us. This dream-pop duo from the Czech independent scene became one of the revelations of the Spring Break festival. Their sound blends intoxicating vocal harmonies, acoustic and electric guitar, subtle samples, and melancholic English-language lyrics.

Volunteer Day

On 5 December, as every year, volunteers celebrate their own holiday. This year we invite you to spend several hours with volunteering. We begin at 15:00 with a range of workshops, followed by speeches, lectures, a volunteer gala, and a banquet. The day will close with a concert by Eskaubei & Tomek Nowak Quartet, the only Polish band permanently combining jazz improvisation with rap lyrics. Admission is free.

Latarnicy2020

We are still carrying out the Latarnicy2020 project at the New Technologies Lab. We invite you to free classes in digital competences, tailored to your needs and delivered on desktop computers, laptops, and smartphones. Information about sessions is regularly added to the Latarnicy2020 for Tarnobrzeg and Kolbuszowa counties page.

Free coworking for journalists

We would also like to remind journalists that until the end of the year they can work free of charge in our coworking space.

The original Polish article included a long link-heavy list of partner media and community pages asked to pass the information further along. The English version keeps the message but omits the copied social-media clutter.
