Museum of Stories at Folkowisko 2019
The Folkowisko Borderland Culture Festival has a unique atmosphere: wild children from Gorajec stage giant water fights, and in the evening the jury chooses the dirtiest child of Folkowisko. It is a place where modernity intertwines with tradition and the distance between performer and audience almost disappears.
This year the Museum of Stories brought two photography exhibitions:
- Q in memory of Rafal Potocki
- Sandomierz Forest: Deer in the Rut
We displayed both around the bonfire circle, and both received plenty of positive feedback.
A lot of interest was also drawn by part of our permanent exhibition, which we take with us on our trips - the part that reminds people of the Central Industrial District and the factories that turned a village into a town. We brought regional memorabilia connected with industry as well as with Lasowiak tradition.
This year the museum also had a hand in the musical side of Folkowisko - Dziady 2019:
- this is where Sviatyj premiered the album Galician Voodoo Blues and played on the first festival night, heating the audience up to the limit,
- Bielowianie played a wonderful Sunday concert, and it was a joy to watch a packed barn singing, dancing, and applauding a group we are friends with.
We had a beautiful time, many wonderful conversations, and hundreds of stories about where we come from and what we had brought with us. This year Nowa Deba Municipality was represented beautifully at Folkowisko.
