Got too much food? Leave some in the community fridge. Need something for today? Come and take what is there — for free, no questions, no formalities. It is the simplest form of neighbourly support: give what you can, take what you need.
The fridge is in the PKS station waiting hall in Nowa Deba and is open to everyone — whether you live nearby, are visiting, or just came back from shopping with more than you can use. One place, one idea: food waste is a problem we can solve together.
How to use the community fridge
A simple step-by-step flow helps everyone share food safely and effectively.
1. Check if food is still good
Leave only food you would eat yourself
Only leave fresh products in good condition, with proper smell and appearance.
- Factory-packed food is welcome
- Home-made meals are allowed when packed tightly
- Do not leave raw meat, raw fish, or food with raw eggs
2. Pack and label clearly
Help others know what they take
Add a short description and preparation date. Clear labels make sharing safer.
- Example: "vegetable salad with mayo"
- Example: "home-made cheesecake with raisins"
- Use clean, closed containers
3. Leave or pick up during opening hours
Free access in the PKS waiting hall
Bring what you can share, take what you need, and leave the place tidy for others.

- Do not leave spoiled food
- Follow the official regulations
4. Post in the Facebook group
Make sharing easier for everyone
You can post a photo and short note about what you have left in the fridge.
